Namaskar Kriya 

Three major namaskar sequences are taught in the Tantras corresponding respectively to the three junctures of the day, dawn, noon, dusk, and sometimes midnight, these junctures are called sandhyās.

  1. Namaskāra Sādhana: Dawn Sandhyā. The Standard Twelve Part (‘Classic’) Sequence – Classical sun salutation
  2. Namaskāra Sādhana: Noon Sandhyā. Sixteen Poses Following the Syllables of a Vedic or Tantric Verse – Vinyasa based ashtanga sun salutation
  3. Namaskāra Sādhana: Dusk or Midnight Sandhyās. The Aṅga-Pradakṣiṇa-Krama Sequence (modern Chandra Namaskāra)

This course is dedicated to the important & key element of Classical Hatha Yoga - Namaskar Kriya. 

PART A - KNOWLEDGE
In this part of the course, you will be able to understand, learn about vital information about Surya Namaskar (SN) and its variations including:
  • Why the Namaskaram Kriyas are the central & focal point of any hatha yoga practice?
  • Why this practice is so important for a general well-being of a person?
  • Why it is believed that this practice of hatha yoga is a complete practice itself integrating all elements of yoga?
  • Why there are only 12 poses in namaskar kriya 1?
  • What are the different types of sun-salutation (a & B), what is the difference, what is the best practice? What is the best time?
  • What is the difference between sun salutation & moon salutation?
  • What is the suitable method for me?
  • What is the significance of 108 sun salutation and what is the best method to achieve it?
  • What are benefits of sun-salutation?

PART B - SKILL
In yoga abhyasa part (practice), you will:
​
  • Learn a proper physical technique of this age-less & time-less practice of classical hatha yoga Namaskar Kriya including Surya Namaskar, Chandra Namaskar (Moon Salutation) and Ashtanga Sun Salutation A and B.
  • Learning to practice with the second dimension of the practice which is prana – the breath into the physical practice of three Kriyas.
  • Learning to practice the final dimension of SN with mantra chanting: At this stage you will deepen the practice of sun salutation to a higher dimension by learning the spiritual significance and finally integrating a short mantra & long mantra with the practice of Surya Namaskar.
  • Learning to build your physical stamina by incorporating all three namaskar kriyas in your daily life.
  • Learning to practice the yogic relaxation system by a short Yoga Nidra.
